Video game heros have similar goals and gimmicks but only a great villain can transform a good video game into a triumph. A video game is only as good as its villain. These 15 classic video game villains have contributed to gaming history as being marked as the toughest, meanest, most diabolic villains of all time.
15. Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong Classics)
On the whole, Donkey Kong is more of a fan favourite than anything. But back in his day, he was one of the original bad guys. Whenever he stole the Princess, only one man could stop him. And that man was an out-of-shape plumber.
14. Dr. Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog Series)
Dr. Robotnik was the arch nemesis to Sonic the Hedgehog. He represented machinery to the hedgehog’s environmentalist approach. He always had a new machine built to take out Sonic, but he never did manage to grind that pesky creature’s bones to a pulp, Guru style. Also, at the end of each level, sonic jumped on one of Robotnik’s traps that released little baby animals back into the wild. What a pussy.
13.Pacman Ghosts (Classic Pacman)
Pacman ghosts. These guys were the original arcade gangstas. They had only one purpose. Kill or be killed. They spent most of their time hunting Pacman, but when he gets a crack rock in his system, he turns the tables and hunts them down like dogs in the street.
12. Cyberdemon (Doom II)
The Cyber-Demon is considered to be the most formidable creature in the DOOM universe. He’s massive, shoots rockets, he's the fastest moving creature in the original game, has a ton of hit-points, and has an attitude that 8 out of 10 grandmas dislike (that means 2 grandma's are messed up psychologically). Whenever you see the Cyber-Demon coming, it’s time to tuck tail and run. Unless of course you have the BFG. Then you have to do a kind of hobble-run, because that weapon is fucking heavy.
11. Mother Brain (Metroid Series)
In the Metroid Series, one of the main villains is Mother Brain. There isn’t much known about Mother Brain, except for the fact that she is a giant, spiky, one-eyed brain in a tank. Additionally, the name is fun to say out loud. Mother Brain. Now you do it. Please? She is considered the leader of the space-pirates in the game and is nothing more than unfeeling artificial intelligence. Mother Brain was the main antagonist for three of the Metroid games, and that’s tough to do with Samus hunting your ass down.
